Founded by Lincoln Ando and Raphael Melo, idwall is a global leader in digital identity, providing secure solutions to bridge the trust gap in the Brazilian market. The company’s mission was inspired by the founders' tenure at Banco Original (2011–2013), where they participated in building Brazil’s first 100% digital bank. Facing significant fraud and compliance challenges during that period, they identified a massive opportunity to innovate within the digital security landscape.
Through its innovative work, idwall evolved from a Google Campus prototype into Latin America’s benchmark for identity management. Its all-in-one platform replaces fragmented tools, optimizing the user journey while reducing operational costs and fraud losses. By integrating cutting-edge technology into a scalable framework, idwall provides organizations with a definitive competitive advantage in today’s complex digital environment.
The challenge
idwall was created to solve a major challenge faced by companies: the lack of trust in the digital environment caused by identity fraud.
2016
idwall is born. Lincoln and Raphael set out to build the solution for the lack of trust in digital environments.
2017
Seed Round: Following the initial seed phase, we raised R$2 million in investment from two of Brazil's leading venture capital firms, Canary and Monashees.
2018
Series A: We raised raised R$9 million in a round led by Monashees, with follow-on participation from Canary and strategic backing from Mercado Livre and Fundação Estudar.
2019
Series B: We raised R$40 million in funding, highlighted by becoming the first Latin American startup in Qualcomm Ventures' AI portfolio. Key participants included ONEVC, Grupo Globo, Canary, and Monashees.
2020
A year of many recognitions with the Great Place to Work seal, as one of the best Brazilian companies to work for, the fourth consecutive year in the 100 Startups to Watch, and third year in a row among the 100 best regtechs in the world.
2021
Series C: We raised R$210 million in a Series C round, marking idwall as the first technology startup to receive investment from Península. The round also included participation from Endurance, GGV Capital, Monashees, Canary, Qualcomm, ONEVC, Grupo Globo, and Norte.
2022
Certification: With the best information security practices, idwall is ISO 27001 certified, a standard that is an international benchmark in the market.
2023
iBeta1: Our facial biometrics solution receives the iBeta1 seal, meeting the most rigorous international standards for accuracy.
2024
idwall Ecosystem & iBeta2: We launched the idwall Ecosystem to centralize anti-fraud tools via Marketplace and custom integrations. We also achieved the iBeta2 certification — the first Brazilian biometric technology to reach this level of ISO 30703-3 compliance.
